PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN COOPERATIVE LEARNING TIPE COOPERATIVE SCRIPT UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP PADA MATERI PROKLAMASI : PTK Pada Siswa Kelas VII-E di SMPN 8 Sumedang

Abstrak:

Penelitian ini didasari hasil pra penelitian yang dilakukan di kelas VII-E di SMP Negeri 8 Sumedang. Berdasarkan hasil pra penelitian masalah yang ditemukan yaitu rendahnya pemahaman konsep siswa kelas VII-E dalam pembelajaran PKn. Hal ini disebabkan model pembelajaran yang digunakan guru kurang efektif, sehingga peneliti menerapkan model Cooperative Learning tipe Cooperative Script (CLCS). Penelitian ini memiliki rumusan masalah: bagaimana pelaksanaan model cooperative script untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep di kelas VII-E, dan kendala serta upaya guru dalam menerapkan model CLCS. Kesan positif pembelajaran cooperative learning adalah dapat menumbuhkan semangat gotong royong dikalangan siswa, siswa dilatih untuk berkolaborasi dengan sesama untuk mencapai tujuan dan keberhasilan suatu usaha (Lie, 2008:28). Model CLCS diterapkan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep pada siswa. Pemahaman konsep penting dimiliki siswa. Belajar konsep merupakan hasil utama pendidikan. Konsep-konsep merupakan batu-batu pembangun (building blocks) berfikir(Dahar,1996:79). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan metode PTK. Subyek penelitian ini siswa kelas VII-E SMPN 8 Sumedang yang berjumlah 23 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan catatan lapangan. Analisis data dengan proses penyeleksian, validasi data, dan interpretasi data. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini yaitu: (1). Kondisi awal pembelajaran PKn kelas VII-E sebelum diterapkan model pembelajaran CLCS memiliki pemahaman konsep yang rendah. Sebanyak 44,3% mendapat nilai dibawah KKM (2). Penerapan model CLCS sudah berhasil dilaksanakan dengan baik, guru menerapkan langkah-langkah CLCS dengan benar (3). Peningkatan pemahaman konsep kelas VII-E setelah diterapkan model CLCS meningkat, hasil observasi terhadap aktivitas siswa meningkat setiap siklusnya. Siklus 1 menunjukan 32,8% dengan kategori “cukup”, siklus II, 57,8% dengan kategori “baik”, dan siklus III menunjukan 87,5% dengan kategori “sangat baik. Nilai ulangan individu siswa meningkat setelah diterapkan model cooperative script. (4). Kendala yang dihadapi yaitu guru masih kaku diawal penerapan model, dan siswa kurang terlibat aktif dalam pelaksanaan model. (5). Upaya untuk mengatasi kendala yaitu guru merefleksi proses pembelajaran dan memperbaiki pembelajaran pada siklus selanjutnya. Guru memberikan reward kepada siswa yang terlibat aktif dalam proses pembelajaran untuk menumbuhkan motivasi kepada siswa yang lain. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu model pembelajaran cooperative script mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep terhadap siswa kelas VII-E di SMPN 8 Sumedang dalam pembelajaran PKn. Model ini direkomendasikan sebagai alternatif model yang efektif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dalam pembelajaran PKn. This research is based on the result of pre-research conducted in VII-E Class of SMP Negeri 8 Sumedang. Based on the result of pre-research, issue found that the lack of VII-E Class students of conceptual comprehension in learning civics. It is caused by the learning model used by the teacher is less effective, so that researcher applied the model of Cooperative Learning type Cooperative Script (CLCS). The problem indication of this research: How the implementation of a Cooperative Script Model for improving the concept comprehension at VII-E class, the teachers’ constraint and effort in the application of CLCS model. The positive impressions of using Cooperative Learning are: it is able to nurture the feeling of cooperation among the students, students is trained to cooperate with each other's to meet the goals and the success of the effort (Lie, 2008:28). CLCS model is applied to increase the conceptual comprehension of the students. Conceptual comprehension is sparingly important for students to have. Learning concepts is the main result of the education. The concepts are the building blocks of the thoughts (Dahar, 1996: 79). This research is using qualitative approach, with the action research method. The subject of this research is the VII-E Class students at SMPN 8 Sumedang amounted to 23 people. The data collection conducted by observation, interview, documentation, and field notes. The data analysis was conducted by the selection process, data validation, and data interpretation. The results obtained from this research are: (1). the first situation of civil learning in VII-E Class before learning model CLCS applied is the students’ have low comprehension of the concept. A total of 44.3% scored below the MMC. (2). The implementation of CLCS model has been successfully carried out; teachers followed the CLCS steps properly (3) the improvement of concept comprehension in VII-E class after the implementation of CLCS model, the observation’s result of the students’ activity is increasing in each cycle. Cycle I shows 32.8% in the “enough” group, cycle II with 57.8% in the “good” group, and cycle III shows 87.5% in the “excellent” group. Individual test scores increased after the implementation of the cooperative script model. (4). the constraint that is faced is that the teacher is still stiff at the beginning of the application of the model, and the students are less actively involved in the implementation of the model. (5). the effort to overcome the constraint is that teacher reflects on the learning process and improves the learning in the next cycle. The teacher gives rewards to students who are actively involved in the learning process to motivate the other students. The conclusion of this research is the learning model: cooperative script can improve the concept comprehension of VII-E class at SMP 8 Sumedang in learning civics. This model is recommended as an effective alternative model to improve understanding of concepts in learning civics.
