PENERAPAN METODE EKSPERIMEN UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATA PELAJARAN IPA TENTANG PERUBAHAN SIFAT BENDA : Penelitian Tindakan Kelas di Kelas V Sekolah Dasar Negeri Subangjaya I Kecamatan Cikole KotaSukabumi Tahun Pelajaran 2013/2014

Abstrak:

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi beberapa permasalahan dalam pembelajaran IPA, yaitu guru cenderung mengajar dengan metode ceramah dan mencatat pada saat pembelajaran IPA, sehingga pembelajaran menjenuhkan, membosankan dan tidak memberi kesempatan siswa untuk mengamati, menyelidiki dan membangun pengetahuannya sendiri sehingga hasil belajar rendah. Selain itu, guru tidak pernah menggunakan metode eksperimen sehingga pembelajaran menjadi kurang menarik dan pemahaman siswa tentang suatu materi juga kurang maksimal. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, tujuan yang ingin dicapai adalah untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan pembelajaran dan deskripsi perkembangan hasil belajar siswa melalui penerapan metode eksperimen pada materi perubahan sifat benda di kelas V SDN Subangjaya I Kecamatan Cikole. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) menggunakan model Kemmis & Mc. Taggart dengan dua siklus, yang setiap siklusnya dilaksanakan terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V semester I SDN Subangjaya I Kota Sukabumi, yang berjumlah 31 orang siswa. Berdasarkan analisis dan refleksi yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dengan penerapan metode eksperimen diperoleh data yang menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Pada siklus I nilai rata-rata siswa yaitu 73,5 dan 14 orang telah mencapai KKM, sedangkan pada siklus II nilai rata-ratanya 82,6 dan semua siswa telah mencapai KKM. Penerapan metode eksperimen dalam pembelajaran mencakup enam prinsip yaitu: 1) Prinsip penyajian masalah, 2) Prinsip pemodelan, 3) Prinsip memperlihatkam fenomena,4) Prinsip pengumpulan data 5) Prinsip diskusi hasil temuan, 6) Prinsip kesimpulan.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan pembelajaran IPA dengan menerapkan metode eksperimen dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Saran untuk guru, agar dapat menguasai dan menerapkan metode eksperimen sesuai dengan keenam prinsip yang ada. Kata Kunci: Metode Eksperimen, Hasil Belajar This research is grounded by some problems in learning science, that teachers tend to teach and lecture notes during science learning, so that learning saturating, boring and does not give students the opportunity to observe, investigate and build his own knowledge that so the learning outcomes is low. In addition, the teachers never use experimental methods so that learning becomes less attractive and students' understanding of the material is also less than the maximum. Based on these problems, implementation, and the improvement of student learning outcomes through the application of experimental methods in material changes in the nature of a class of objects in the District SDN Subangjaya I Cikole. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) using a model of Kemmis & Mc. Taggart with two cycles, each cycle consisted of the plan, implementation, observation, and reflection. Subjects of this study is the first semester of the fifth grade students of SDN Subangjaya I Sukabumi, totaling 31 students. Based on analysis and reflection carried out in two cycles, with the application of experimental methods of data obtained indicate student learning improvement. In the first cycle, the average value of achievement is 73.5 and 14 students have reached the KKM, while the second cycle of the average value of achievement is 82.6, and all students have reached the KKM. Application of the experimental method in the study includes six principles: 1) The principle of presenting problems, 2) The principle of modeling, 3) The principle of showing the phenomena, 4) The principle of data collection 5) The principle of the discussion of findings, and 6) The principle of conclusion. Based on these results we can conclude that the implementation of learning science by applying experimental methods to improve student learning outcomes. Suggestions for teachers, in order to master and apply the experimental method in accordance with the principles of the existing six. Keywords: Experimental Method, Student Achievement.
