SOLASI MINYAK KECOMBRANG (Etlingera elatior) SEBAGAI BAHAN PEMBUATAN PARFUM

Abstrak:

Kecombrang (Etlingera elatior) merupakan tanaman rempah asli Indonesia yang memiliki aroma yang khas dan secara tradisional telah lama digunakan masyarakat sebagai sayuran, obat luka dan penghilang bau badan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan minyak kecombrang sebagai bahan parfum. Tahapan penelitian terdiri atas isolasi minyak kecombrang dari bagian kuncup bunga, batang dan daun dengan menggunakan metode destilasi uap, identifikasi minyak kecombrang menggunakan GC-MS, formulasi parfum serta uji kualitas dan organoleptik produk. Dari isolasi dihasilkan minyak kuncup bunga sebesar 0,026%; minyak batang kecombrang sebesar 0,0125%; dan minyak daun kecombrang sebesar 0,2%. Minyak daun kecombrang memiliki bau paling segar dibandingkan dengan minyak kuncup bunga dan minyak batang kecombrang, oleh karena itu minyak daun kecombrang dipilih sebagai bahan pembuatan parfum. Hasil analisis GC-MS menunjukkan bahwa minyak daun kecombrang memiliki 7komponen senyawa utama, yaitu Cyclohexene,1-methyl-4-(5-methyl-1-methylene-4-hexenyl; β-Phinene; α-Phinene; Bicyclo[4.1.0]hept-2-ene,3,7,7-trimethyl; Bicyclo[3.1.1]heptane, 6,6-dimethyl-2-methylene; Caryophyllene; Bicyclo[3.1.1]heptan-3-one, 2,6,6-trimethyl. Dari formulasi parfum dihasilkan 6 produk parfum yang berjenis Eau de Cologne dan Fougere. Hasil uji kualitas parfum melalui uji spreadibilitas diketahui parfum 2 memiliki daya sebar paling tinggi dengan diameter 2,8 cm, sedangkan dari uji daya tahan wangi diketahui parfum 5 dan 6 memiliki daya tahan wangi yang tinggi yaitu 6 jam. Hasil uji organoleptik dari 6 produk parfum diketahui produk parfum 2 dan 5 paling banyak disukai, sedangkan dari jenis parfumnya diketahui parfum jenis Eau de Cologne lebih banyak disukai dibandingkan dengan Fougere. Kecombrang (Etlingera elatior) is an Indonesian native spice plant that have a distinctive aroma and traditionally have been used as vegetable, medicine and deodorant. This research aims to utilize kecombrang oil as a perfume ingredient. Research stages consist of isolating the oil from the flower buds, stems and leaves using steam distillation method; identification of kecombrang oils using GC-MS; perfume formulation; test of quality and organoleptic of the product. The isolation step produced 0,026% oil of flower buds; stem oil is 0,0125%; leaves oil is 0,2%. Kecombrang leaves oil has the freshest smell compared with flower buds oil and stem oil, therefore kecombrang leaves oil was chosen as the material of making perfumes. The results of GC-MS analysis showed that kecombrang leaves oil has 7 main compounds, those are Cyclohexene, 1-methyl-4-(5-methyl-3-methylene-3-hexenyl; β-α-Phinene; Phinene; Bicyclo [4.1.0] hept-2-ene, 3 .7 .7-trimethyl; Bicyclo [3.1.1] heptane, 6.6-dimethyl-2-methylene; Caryophyllene; Bicyclo [3.1.1] heptan-3-one, 2, 6.6-trimethyl. The results of perfume formulation is 6 product of Eau de Cologne and Fougere perfume. Quality test results by using spreadibilitas test is known that perfume 2 has the highest dispersive with a diameter of 2,8 cm, whereas the test of fragrance endurance showed that the perfume 5 and 6 have high durability fragrance which is 6 hours. The results of organoleptic test of 6 products is known that perfume 2 and 5 are the most preferred, while on the types of perfume, type Eau de cologne perfumes more preferable than Fourege perfumes.
