PENGARUH PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS PRAKTIKUM TERHADAP PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS DAN PENGUASAAN KONSEP FOTOSINTESIS DI SMA KELAS XII

Abstrak:

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan pengaruh pembelajaran berbasis praktikum dalam meningkatkan kemampuan proses sains dan penguasaan konsep pada konsep fotosintesis. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Quasy experiment. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dua kelas siswa SMA Kelas XII SMA Negeri 5 Cirebon semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2013/2014 yang dipilih dengan cara random cluster sampling. Setelah pembelajaran berbasis praktikum diberikan pada kelas eksperimen dan pembelajaran dengan metode demonstrasi diberikan pada kelas kontrol, penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan proses sains siswa berbeda signifikan. Nilai rerata posttest kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil analisis statistik terdapat peningkatan penguasaan konsep yang signifikan lebih tinggi pada kelas eksperimen dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol meskipun keduanya termasuk kedalam kategori sedang. Untuk keterampilan proses sains indikator interpretasi, klasifikasi, komunikasi dan menggunakan alat dan bahan pada kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan dengan kategori tinggi dan pada kelas kontrol mengalami peningkatan sedang. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kelas yang menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis praktikum lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran dengan metode demonstrasi. Kata Kunci : Pembelajaran Berbasis Praktikum, Keterampilan Proses Sains, Penguasaan Konsep, dan Fotosintesis. The purpose of this study was to analyze and to describe the effect of practice-based learning in science to improve the mastery of concept and science process skill in the concept of photosynthesis. The method used is in this research is Quasy experiment. The sampel of this study were two classes of high school students that are Class XII 5 Cirebon semester academic year 2013/2014 were chosen by means of random cluster sampling. After learning lab-based experiments are given in class and learning by demonstration method given in class control, mastery of the concept of and different science process skills students signifikan. The average value of post test experimental class higher than the control class. Based on the statistical processing there is an increasing mastery of concepts significantly higher in the experimental class than the control class although both are included into the medium category . For science process skills indicator interpretation , classification , communication , and using tools and materials in the experimental classes increased with higher categories and the control class had moderately elevated so that it can be concluded that the class uses lab -based learning is more effective than the method of learning by demonstration Keywords : Practice Based Learning , Science Process Skills , Mastery of Concepts , Photosynthesis.
