UPAYA MENINGKATKAN PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN IPA FISIKA DI KELAS VIII O SMPN 1 RENGASDENGKLOK KARAWANG MELALUI PENDEKATAN KONTEKSTUAL MODEL COOPERATIVE LEARNING

Abstrak:

Penelitian ini berjudul “Upaya Meningkatkan Prestasi Belajar Siswa dalam Pembelajaran IPA Fisika di Kelas VIII O SMPN 1 Rengasdengklok Karawang Melalui Pendekatan Kontekstual Model Cooperative Learning ”. Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan pengalaman peneliti, pada semester 1 tahun pelajaran 2011-2012 ditemukan satu kelas yang prestasi belajarnya paling rendah dibandingkan dengan kelas yang lain. hanya 49% siswa yang nilai ulangan hariannya mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimal (KKM) sebesar 70. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran belum tuntas, oleh karena itu peneliti berusaha meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa dalam pelajaran IPA Fisika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII O dengan jumlah siswa 51. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tindakan dengan menggunakan model Cooperative Learning, diperoleh bahwa prestasi belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan, ditunjukkan dengan meningkatnya jumlah siswa yang mencapai nilai minimal sama dengan KKM sebesar 70. Semula hanya 49% dari seluruh siswa mencapai nilai minimal sama dengan KKM sebesar 70 menjadi 65% pada siklus I, kemudian meningkat menjadi 73% pada siklus II dan 78% pada siklus III. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa upaya peningkatan prestasi belajar dalam pembelajaran IPA Fisika melalui pendekatan kontekstual model Cooperative Learning telah tercapai. Kata kunci : model Cooperative Learning, prestasi belajar The title of this study is "Efforts to Improve Student Learning Achievement in Learning Physics in Class VIII O SMPN1 Rengasdengklok Using Contextual Approach Cooperative Learning Model". This study was conducted by researchers experience, in semester 1 of academic year 2011-2012 found that one class that has lower academic achievement than the other classes. Only 49% of students who reached compatible scores with minimum completeness criteria (KKM) that is 70. It is showed that learning has not been completed, therefore, researchers trying to improve student achievement in physics. Research method that used was action research (PTK). The subjects of this research were 51 students of class VIII O. Based on the results of action research that using Cooperative Learning Model found that student achievement has increased. It was indicated by increasing number of students who achieve score 70 that is compatible with KKM. At the beginning, from entirely students, only 49% students who got score 70 that is compatible with KKM 70 become 65% in the first cycle. Afterward it increased to 73% in the second cycle and 78% in the third cycle. According to explanation above, It can be summarized that efforts to increase student achievement in learning physics using contextual approach cooperative learning model has been reached.
