ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN LITERASI SAINS SISWA SMP DALAM PEMBELAJARAN IPA TERPADU PADA TEMA CUACA EKSTRIM

Abstrak:

Literasi sains siswa SMP sangat dibutuhkan pada era globalisasi ini. Pentingnya literasi sains khususnya bagi siswa SMP adalah untuk mempersiapkan siswa menghadapi kehidupan yang modern dengan perkembangan sains dan teknologi yang begitu cepat. Literasi sains yang cukup tinggi dapat digunakan untuk menghadapi persoalan di kehidupan nyata. Literasi sains diperoleh siswa SMP melalui pembelajaran IPA Terpadu di sekolah. Namun berdasarkan hasil studi pendahuluan yang telah dilakukan ternyata pembelajaran IPA terpadu di sekolah belum terlalu memperhatikan literasi sains siswa. Pembelajaran IPA Terpadu di sekolah masih berorientasi hafalan dan terdapat beberapa kendala dalam pembelajaran IPA Terpadu yaitu kesulitan dalam penentuan tema. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis literasi sains siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA Terpadu pada tema cuaca ekstrim. Metoda penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif analitik dengan desain penelitian adalah one-shot case study selama dua kali pertemuan. Aspek literasi sains (berdasarkan PISA 2006) yang dianalisis pada penelitian ini terdiri dari aspek konteks, pengetahuan, kompetensi dan sikap . Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan untuk menganalisis literasi sains siswa adalah tes pelihan ganda, tes berbentuk uraian dan kuisioner tertutup. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase rata-rata pada aspek kompetensi diatas 50%, persentase rata-rata aspek pengetahuan juga diatas 50%, aspek konteks rata-rata diatas 50% dan aspek sikap diatas 70%. Berdasarkan hasil analisis rendahnya beberapa sub-aspek literasi sains siswa dapat disebabkan oleh siswa kurang mengingat sepenuhnya pembelajaran yang pernah dipelajari sebelumnya. But based on the results of preliminary studies that have been done in school turns learning science not pay much attention to students' scientific literacy. Integrated science teaching in schools is still oriented rote and there are some constraints in integrated science teaching is the difficulty in determining the theme. This study aims to analyze the scientific literacy of students in learning science Built on the theme of extreme weather. The method used is descriptive analytic study design is a one-shot case study during the two meetings. Aspect of scientific literacy (based on PISA 2006) analyzed in this study consists of aspects of the context, knowledge, competencies and attitudes. The research instrument used to analyze the scientific literacy of students is multiplechoice tests and questionnaires closed form description. The results showed that the average percentage of the competency aspect above 50%, the average percentage aspects of knowledge are also above 50%, the aspect of the context of average above 50% and above 70% attitude aspects. Based on the analysis of the low number of sub-aspects of students' scientific literacy can be caused by a lack of student learning fully remember ever learned before.
